Suburban Extended Stay Hotel - Florence, SC

Suburban Extended Stay Hotel - Florence, SC

Suburban Extended Stay -- a novelty to me

Wow. So this is an interesting, new, and really cool idea that I had never heard of before; suburban extended stay hotels. It's like a hotel, but the rooms are bigger, there are more amenities in each room like kitchens (and the optional jacuzzi room, ooh), and there is a dining area. What was frustrating to me was that when I went to their website to try to find out approximate pricing to expect I got nowhere. The suburban extended stay hotel was one of the few hotels that came up in the search that had the rate listed as "unavailable" information. I don't know about you, but I'm not going to just call out of curiosity, so the suburban extended stay hotel just went down a notch in my book for inconvenience.

Suburban Extended Stay -- the economic aspects

Well, if the price is a better value than hotels designed for just a night or two stay (like most hotels) than I would say it's well worth the money. Plus staying in a hotel like the suburban extended stay hotel it is more likely that you could make some holiday/vacation friends, since the other people there are also most likely there for weeks or months, not just days or one night only. And really, economically it seems to make sense that a suburban extended stay hotel would cost less because when their rooms fill they stay filled, so they don't have to worry about not having anyone in their rooms as much. Not to mention what they save on housekeeping, since housekeeping only comes once a week, not every day.

Suburban Extended Stay -- the convenient aspects

There are some really convenient things about a suburban extended stay hotel, regardless of the convenience or inconvenience of the price (something that is still in question, though logically I would think it would at least be similarly valued). For example, the kitchen thing; I know people think that's just a nice little perk, a sweet little amenities, but it can be a real money saver when you are on a suburban extended stay trip and you have an alternative option to eating out every single night. Think about the bucks you would save just for a week. Now multiply that by several weeks, or perhaps even months, and your savings start to really add up. Also when there are dining services available, one would hope that that would be a better value/price alternative to the other dining/eating options in the area outside of the suburban extended stay hotel.

Suburban Extended Stay -- added up

So how does the idea of a suburban extended stay hotel add up in this travelers book? Pretty good. While it's not romantic, idyllic, picturesque, historical, or any of the other things I often espouse in holiday accommodations, it's very basic, very simple, very suitable for a basic, simple travel accommodation (like going to visit family or friends within the U.S. when you know you'll be spending most of the time with them and don't need a fancy frills hotel). So if you require basic hotel service, but for an extended stay and with a few extra amenities, the suburban extended stay hotel could be just the thing for you.
